Meet the Staff

Dr. Collins was born and grew up in Everett , Washington . He attended the University of Washington for both undergraduate studies and dental school. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree in 2000. While in dental school, he received numerous awards in to include: American College of Dentists Ferrier Memorial Prize, the University of Washington Department
of Restorative Dentistry Fixed Prosthodontics Award, and the John D. Guthrie Memorial Scholarship.
Dr. Collins worked as a dentist in Mountain Home , Idaho and Boise , Idaho before moving back to the state of Washington in 2005. Dr. Collins enjoys using all the new technology in dentistry to provide care for his patients, and surpass the expectations of patients. In his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing, running, and working on his 1965 Ford Mustang.

Dr. Collins grew up in Anchorage , Alaska . Dr. Collins received her Bachelor's Degree from Central Washington University , and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Washington in 2000. She was in the Air Force for four years and was stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho for three of those years, and one year on a remote assignment to South Korea . She received additional training in forensic dentistry while in the Air Force, and subsequently worked with the Ada County Sheriff's Department in forensic identification of deceased individuals. After separating from the Air Force, she worked as a dentist at Desert Sage Health Center in Idaho . She enjoys interacting with patients of all ages and helping them achieve optimum dental health. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family (cat, Julius, and a springer spaniel, Madison ), working out, running, and cooking.

Dr. Halgren was raised in Lawrence, Kansas and also attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence. She went on to attend Creighton University for dental school in Omaha, Nebraska. While in dental school ,she participated in a program called ILAC (Institute of Latin American Concern) to provide dental care to the remote villages of the Dominican Republic for two months. Dr. Halgren was in private practice in Eureka, Missouri before moving the Mount Vernon area in 2005. Her husband, Paul, is an orthodontist in Mount Vernon and the San Juan Islands. They have expanded their family to include two daughters, Parker and Cassidy, and pug, Philo. She enjoys getting to know all of her patients, and helping them understand a healthy smile helps lead to a healthy body. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, cheering for the University of Kansas Jayhawks football and basketball teams, working out, and wine tasting.

Cara is the office manager for the Mount Vernon office. She was born and raised in the Skagit Valley. She has worked as a dental assistant since 1995 when she graduated from Mount Vernon High School. Outside of the office, Cara enjoys spending time with her black labs, Taschko and Brooke, and horse, Auto. She also enjoys spending time with her three sisters and mom and dad. She likes anything that has to do with the outdoors: four wheeler riding, fishing, and traveling with her horse to barrel racing events. Cara is a barrel racer with the National Barrel Horse Association and BRND 4-D, and travels all over Washington and Oregon to barrel racing events.

Sunni has worked at the Anacortes office since 1994. She was first trained as a dental assistant and now works in the front office. She is married to Matt, her high school sweetheart, and they have two daughters, Madeline and Cassandra. Sunni enjoys volunteering at her daughter's school, and for her church. Sunni loves coming to work everyday because she thinks we have the best patients in all of Anacortes !

Traci is a lifelong Skagit Valley resident. She has been working in the dental field since 2004. She and her husband, Paul, have a son, Blake, and a younger daughter, Myah. They also have a family dog, a Rottweiler named Zephyr. Traci is an avid runner and also enjoys wakeboarding in the summer months. Traci's passion is spending time with her family camping, biking, or walks at Lake Padden. She also enjoys spending time with her immediate family which includes her 2 older brothers and her parents. She especially likes shopping trips with her mom! Traci likes getting to know all of our patients and helping them feel better about their dental health!

Colette graduated from Bellingham Technical College with her dental assisting degree in 2001 and has been working in the dental field since then. Colette has lived in the Skagit Valley since 1991. When she is not busy at work, she has a family that keeps her busy: a son, Ryder, and daughter, Caleigh, a husband, Ryan, a cat Kenny, and a dog, Bella. Colette likes wakeboarding, running, and traveling with her family-her favorite destination being Maui. Colette states that what she likes most about being in the dental field is working with the public and making patients look and feel better about their smiles.

Mollie is a dental assistant at the Anacortes office. She graduated from Bryman Technical College with a dental assisting degree; Mollie is a lifelong Sedro Woolley resident. She has two older sisters, and likes dirt biking with her husband. Mollie is an active person: she likes to run, walk her Jack Russell Terrier, Camie, and hike. Mollie likes her job as a dental assistant because of all the hands on work she gets to do.

Karen is a dental hygienist on our staff. She spends most of her time taking care of patients in Anacortes, but she also has been spending a few days at our Mount Vernon office every month to accommodate hygiene patients. Karen is a lifelong Skagitonian; she grew up in LaConner. In 2003, she graduated from Clark College , Vancouver , WA with a hygiene degree. Karen has two daughters, and a grandson. She enjoys her job because she can help patients attain optimum oral health and she likes all the nice patients we have in our practices! Outside of work, Karen likes to spend time with her grandson, travel, read, and garden.

Jane was hired in September 2008 as our Anacortes office manager. Jane has twelve years of experience in the financial industry and eight years of experience as a stay at home mom. Jane and her husband moved to Anacortes eight years ago and love to call Anacortes their home. When not at work, you will probably find her in the mountains, woods, or at the beach with her husband, two kids, and two Australian shepherds. Jane also enjoys swimming and working in her vegetable garden. What she likes most about our office is getting to know our wonderfully diverse patient group.

Kristina graduated from Stanwood High School in 2005 and continued her education at Bellingham Technical College, where she received her dental assisting degree. Kristina loves living on Camano Island where she has grown up. She likes the beach, hanging out with her family, and loves a good adventure. She hopes to go skydiving someday! Kristina enjoys working with the public because she gets to meet new people and assist in helping people achieve a beautiful smile.

Vhari was born and raised in the beautiful orchards of the Wenatchee Valley. In 1998 she graduated with honors from Eastern Washington with a BS in Dental Hygiene. Vhari enjoys getting to know her patients and providing them with the highest level of dental hygiene care. She particularly enjoys incorporating the latest research and being an integral part of the dental team. Her background includes teaching, volunteering, and being an active member of the Washington State Dental Hygienists' Association. Vhari and her husband, Alan, delight in raising their joyful daughter Kealy. They also have two energetic labs and two lazy cats. Vhari enjoys golfing, going to the beach, shopping, and spending time with her family.

Jenn is a native of Oak Harbor and lives with her husband Bryon and son Hunter. Jenn has been in dentistry since 1996, starting out as a dental assistant, and in 2007, graduated from Yakima Valley Community College with a dental hygiene degree. Jenn's favorite thing about her job is being able to work one-on-one with her patients and to offer them the best care possible. Jenn enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her two dogs, Chester and Cooper. Her other hobbies include flyfishing, camping, cooking, gardening, golf, and trying new things that come along.

Allison graduated Bellingham Technical College with her Dental Assisting Certification in 2006. She has been working in the dental field ever since and loves the profession. Allison has grown up in Skagit Valley most of her life. She loves spending time with her family, as well as her dogs Zoe and Buck. When not at the office, Allison spends a lot of her time outdoors. She enjoys hiking, fishing, and camping whenever she gets the chance. Allison truly enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them with their oral health.

Kaylee was hired in our Anacortes office in May 2010. She graduated June 2010 from Everest College with a degree in Dental Assisting. She is currently enrolled at Skagit Valley Community College working towards a degree in Dental Hygiene. Kaylee and her daughter moved from Sedro-Woolley to Anacortes in the summer of 2010. Kaylee enjoys snowboarding, running, and spending time with her family and friends. What she likes best about her job is helping out patients have beautiful smiles, interacting with and getting to know amazing patients!.
